Obituary
Ethel Stern, 100, in Sherman Oaks, CA on December 2, 2016; preceded in death by her husband Leo and her daughter Rachel. Survived by her son Jim (Barbara), her brother Jerome, and her sister Mae. Rachel’s death at age 8 was the great tragedy of Ethel’s life. Ethel lived for family and friends. Chapel service, Friday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation via www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ethel- stern/memorial.
